Charcoal

So recently I discovered a new medium! I had always been intimidated by the risk-of-mistake involved in ink, but with a little encouragement from a dear professor of mine, I am becoming more comfortable with this tool. I am learning alot about the concept of light recently, and how beautiful it really is. Illustrating its affect can be a difficult task, but with a bit of practice can be a very useful tool in the shed. Ink is permanent, and is a bit more difficult, and thats why love it!

In the picture below is the self portrait that I am working on.

The one who has inspired me is none other than my drawing teacher Arthur "Art" Cislo. He's always excited to share information with his students, and never fails to take a personal interest me with both critique and praise . Like I said, I used to be a bit intimidated by the idea of drawing and by some unique media such as ink. Art wants to see me succeed even though i am a begginer at this. He sees potential in me, and he see's me as an investment -- and for that I am thankful.
